On thrusday night a News18 journalist was stabbed brutally and repeatedly by the restaurant owner and staffs in Guwahati.
Chakrapani Parashar is the name of the victim who is a famous tv reporter and a popular anchor. He faced this gruesome fate by the employees and workers of AlberEats a restaurant beside the News18 office when the reporter was on duty.
News18 Assam's NE editor Sanjoy Paul said that he is out of danger now but has many injuries all over his body and has got many stiches. He was immediately rushed to a near by hospital which eventually prevented further damage. Four accused are arrested.
Actual scenario was that there was a fight which was going on with the restaurant owner and few people who were playing holi there and Parashar with his unit went there to cover the incident. The restaurant owner repeatedly forbade the reporter for not shooting and also threatened him. And at the end when Parashar denied the owner came out with a dragger and started stabbing him.
Sayed Ali, his brother Niraj Ahmed and employees Nitin Sharma and Bhabesh Das, are the name of the people who got arrested. According to reports Sayed Ali has many criminal records while he used to work in many political parties.
Other media personnels have complained about this incident and also asked the government to pass a proper protection law for the media persons in the country. As the attacks on media has increased in a good rate.
