On the issue of violation of the Code of Conduct by the Indian Railways, former Chairman of the JNU Student Union and CPI candidate Kanhaiya Kumar, who is fighting  the Lok Sabha election from Begusarai constituency in Bihar, Kanhaiya Kumar takes a dig at the Modi government.

Attacking the Modi government indirectly, Kanhaiya Kumar wrote on Twitter , " they did not even leave the cup of tea.  Now, for the sake of publicity, they have made Indian Railway serve on #mainbhichowkidaar cups then not write on rail tracks and on the clouds may be . Work Zero, the expenditure of the publicity is seventy-two rupees."

In violation of Model  Code of Conduct by the Indian Railways, there were allegations of issuing stamps featuring  photographs of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Later, the Railways clarified that it was an 'unknown mistake'.
