Dayadra Mandal,Kolkata:

Australian cricketers were once known for their pervert behavior, but last year, after the ball tampering issue, their campaign to clean up the game culture, there was a radical change in their behavior. Cricket Australia Chairman Earl Edwards said that the Australian men's team did not commit even once in the 2018-19 season.

This is the first time in the last seven years while the team has got 'Clean Sheet'. Not only that, in all cases, there has been a reduction of 74 percent in cases of violation of code of conduct. Eddies said, "Everyone in Australian cricket is aware that only triumph does not matter, it is also important how they play the game and the players have actually created this feeling inside them."

Former Australian captain Steven Smith and David Warner were banned for one year for capturing the ball in the Cape Town Test against South Africa for a year, while the opening batsman Cameron Bancroft was banned for nine months.

In March 2018, when the Australian team went on a tour of South Africa, Australian opener Cameron Bencroft caught in the CapeTown Test while bowling ball tampering. Bencroft was seen removing yellow trousers from his trousers during the match. It was seen in TV Replay that Bencroft was seen using pockets of objects like tapes to spoil the shape of the ball, which he later tried to hide in his trouser.

By changing the tape to sandpaper, it was used by Bencroft to make the ball rough on one side so that the bowlers got a swing. After this incident, Australian captain Steve Smith took note of ball-tempering in the press conference. Hours after the incident of ball-tempering, the Australian government asked to remove Steve Smith from captaining the captain. Australian Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull also called the incident "shocking and disappointing".

Later Steve Smith had to leave the captaincy of the Australian cricket team. Vice captain David Warner also had to face his post. One-year ban was imposed on Steve Smith and David Warner. In addition, Cameron Bancourt has been banned for 9 months.
